Basilio Tabacchi was born in 1966 in Pieve di Cadore, a small village near Venice, in Italy. Even as a child he loved magic and at the age of fifteen he attended the Ancona school for conjurors under the director ship of Giuseppe Bressan, founder of the Italian Magic Club.
From 1987 to 1990 he attended the Entertainment Academy of Veneto, where he qualified as an actor. He then specialized in the Comedy of Art. Since 1987 Basilio has collaborated with the Italian Magic Club, the national conjurors’ association, giving exhibitions in the most prestigious venues. In 1988 “Wonderland Follies” was created in collaboration with another well-known magician. This show which encompassed all aspects of magic (manipulation, illusion, mentalism and comedy) was performed in all the major Italian cities. From this partnership an agency of special effects in magic for the theatre was formed.
From 1992 to 1994 he performed on various TV programmes on RAI 1, RAI 2 and CANALE 5, the principle national channels. In 1994 he also worked as consultant of magic effects for an important TV programme, IL GRANDE GIOCO DELL’OCA, which was televised during prime time on RAI 1.
In 2018 Basilio was part of the cast of SuperMagic at Theatre Olimpico in Rome, one of the most important magic shows in Europe with many of the best magicians of the world and appeared on various television programs as a special guest. In 2019 he produced and directed “C’est Magique”, a show with many of the best magicians in Italy.
Basilio speaks fluent French, Italian, Spanish and English and this has permitted him to perform on great international stages in the recent years.
Basilio started working on cruise ships in 1995 and since then he has traveled all over the world. The cruise lines he has worked on include: Costa Cruise Line, Holland America Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Silversea Cruises, Oceania, Regent, Princess Cruises and Cunard Line. He has also worked in cabaret theatres, including: Casino Perla Slovenia, Theatre Olimpico Rome, Tamarindo Casino Palace Grand Canary.
Basilio can perform three separate 45 minute shows. His FunTastic Magic Show is based on sketches and jokes involving the public. It is an entirely spoken show, in one or more languages at the same time (English, Spanish, French, Italian and German) and suitable for an international audience. His second is a mix of Comedy Magic and Comedy Mentalism, involving the audience and suitable for an international audience. The third is a Close-Up magic show performed with the assistance of a video camera and screen and is suitable in a theatre or parlour.
