Katie trained as a classical pianist at the international music school, The Purcell School in London and later at both Bristol and York Universities where she acquired a BA and an MA in Music and performance. After University, Katie spent time interning at both Classic FM and BBC TV in radio and television production to understand the behind the scenes nature of performance and music production. Shortly after Katie collaborated with Andrew Lynwood, a renowned producer to release her solo classical piano album “Noted”, which includes works by Ravel, Hayden, Schumann and Debussy. Katie extends her talents to theatrical Musical Directing and has established links with the repertory theatres and colleges in the UK and the USA, including working alongside members of the LA Opera, the West End and Broadway.
Whilst living in Los Angeles, Katie extensively worked alongside composer and producer, Sean Carney on many projects including an album that pushes the boundaries of what concert piano and modern music can achieve and recently one of the songs Katie performed upon was played for the opening ceremony at the Paris Olympics.
Through her career, Katie’s natural ability for stagecraft and performance, in addition to her love for all styles of music led her to developing the sensational and original Virtuoso, Variety Piano act she performs today.
Katie’s natural comic timing and ability to transpose well-known and well- loved tunes into outstanding virtuoso pieces, will astound you and her unique humour will leave you smiling. Her lively stage presence and fresh take on all things music is a pleasure to behold.
